How have changes in migration and population patterns affected American life?
Starting with the last Ice Age 10,000 years ago, folks have been coming to America. It's such a popular idea that Eddie Murphy even made a movie about it in 1988. Most Americans today can trace their lineage back to someone who was born in another country, and the United States has often been referred to as a "melting pot" or, for those more enlightened folks, a "tossed salad" of immigrant cultures.
In all seriousness, though, the constant shuffle of people into and around the United States has made definite impacts on the social structure of this country. In AP US History, we will explore some of these impacts and make predictions about the future of migration in the United States.
