Money
Money is great. We all want more of it. Then we can buy things.
All kidding aside, though, a $20 bill isn't truly worth $20. After all, it's just paper, and even though it may contain a likeness of Andrew Jackson (Mr. McGrath's favorite president), the paper isn't worth a lot. The money has value because the government says it has value: fiat money. This idea is central to the development of our entire economic system. Otherwise, we'd all be hauling around 200-pound rocks to pay our bills. |
